Kids of War, Part II

Isn't this war over yet? Update on my friend's daughter: she's homesick. And she thinks that she and her pal look like Maverick and Iceman from Top Gun. The whole thing is so sad. We're going to have a whole generation returning from this war all fucked up.

I read an article the other day about all the kids in Iraq that no longer attend school (their schools have been destroyed) and all the psychological problems that kids have there. One little girl convulses and has seizures whenever she hears bombs/gunfire. Also, the psychiatrists are big targets, so the ones who haven't been killed are fleeing to other countries.
Who will clean all of this up???? And what is the point of this war George? FUCKING OIL???? Lining your friends' pockets? I hope there is a special place in hell for all of you.

They say it's your birthday!

Clearly, this is a group of red-headed TROUBLE!

We celebrated my birthday on St. Patty's day this year. Amis sent me the beautiful roses (to work!) brought I brought them home for the little party.

My dad came over to install new lighting in my kitchen (why is there no photo of that?!?!) and we had some technical difficulties and it took forever. But it's pretty hot now!

I got cards from all the important out of town (state) friends, and truly had one of the best birthdays ever. I feel so loved!!!! Yay!!!!

I think it's going to be a great year....

Little Women (the Broadway Musical)

I had never read the book, but agreed to play in the pit for this musical.

At the very end, when Jo is taking it home, in the song Fire Within Me:

"Here I go, and there's no turning back
My great adventure has begun.
I may be small
But I've got giant plans
To shine as brightly as the sun!"

I'm LOVING that part! And it's totally stuck in my head too.
