$OLD

I loved the orange Romanian bass with all my heart and soul. I bought her 11 years ago, when I was young, in college, and full of hope for the future.

That bass got me through symphonies, and full orchestras, bass conferences, master class, wind ensemble, band, big band, pit orchestras, jazz trios, and too many auditions to count.

I still love it. And now, so does a young hopeful kid named Brian who is about to graduate from high school. He's going to be a jazz bass player in college, and the orange Romanian is his new baby.

Congratulations Brian!

And congrats to me.... I finally sold my extra bass!!!! My new bass (the brown beauty) is now my one and only.

My friend MK recently said that it's a little different each time you fall in love. She was talking about men, but it pertains to instruments too. I was the first owner of orange. She'll hopefully be around for hundreds of years. When I got her, I thought I'd play her for the rest of my life. We never really "own" instruments, we're just taking good care of them for the next person lucky enough to get to play them. Now I'm the first owner of the brown beauty bass. I really think that this love will last a lifetime.....

SOLD!

I told Brian to take good care of her and love her, and with wide hopeful eyes he told me, "I WILL!" and I believe him.
