Is Someone Around Here Single?

I realize that I haven't said a peep about the dating front in a while. I have met someone that I am interested in. We've been talking for about a month and a half, but through the holidays, blizzards causing roads to be impassable, and visiting families, and work trips, we have only been out twice. Tonight is to be our third date.

His personality is so much like mine. Not that I need that, or am looking for a clone, but it SURE beats a quiet wallflower (for me anyway....).

Out first date was 6 hours, our second one was 7. So there is lots to talk about, and things are going well. I'll update you all more later....

=)

Aldo is Nearly Mended

Aldo's not just ON the mend, he's nearly mended!

We went to the vet yesterday and after his tap (the amount of fluid continues to go down each week) he weighed 80.3 lbs!!!!! YAY! My little baby had gotten so skinny he was only 71 lbs (and I met him at 85 lbs). He is looking and feeling so very much better!

There was running and playing in the yard last night, as well as this morning. My baby is making a HUGE comeback! I am so blessed and thankful.

Doing What Works for Me

I was reminded (by a professional no less!) yesterday that it is not only OK to say No sometimes, but the only way to actually get the desired results sometimes.

There has been a struggle in my family (like the sharks and the jets) recently, and it's between the hometowns (little dogs) and the relocators (big dogs). No shit. We're fighting over where the dogs go when we visit each other. Although SOMEHOW the past four visits have all been ME having to bend over backwards (even the week after my appendectomy) to accommodate the little dogs while screwing over the big dogs (and sometimes myself) in the process.

IN ANY CASE, this year, 2008, I will be choosing to do what works for me more often. I will say no when I want to (and mean it) and stand by it. When a door shuts, people will generally go find another one to open. So everyone can get ready to put on their problem-solving hats and find ways to accommodate each other. I'm not bending over backwards anymore.

Time for Politics!

They are sending me tons of e-mails, and so I am reminded that it's that time again. Time to stand up for what you believe in, time to save this country, and almost time to vote.

Howard Dean sent me a pledge to sign, and I did. I will support whomever the democratic candidate is. Although I'm pulling for Edwards...

Global Citizens

This was on postsecret this week, and I LOVE it. The art is beautiful, as is the message.

HAPPY NEW YEAR! I welcome 2008 to be an incredibly wonderful year filled with good times.
